Not Ready To Go

by Katelynn   Jul 24, 2009

Within my bedroom so dark and still,
Between my covers, I lay unmoving and quiet.
Near the window, I hear a loud bang.
Without a single noise I crawl out of bed,
Over the sleeping cat and dog,
Through the hallway,
Until I reach mom and papa's room I didn't dare breathe.
Throughout the room no one appears,
Except for my little brother who sits so still with tears in his eyes.
Inside the kitchen, I hear a door open,
Underneath the bed my brother and I go.
Around the house screams were heard from loved ones.
Before my eyes little droplets of water appear,
With my brother we fear so dearly.
Beside me sobs are heard.
Beyond everything I am screaming very loudly,
Along no sounds come out.
In a second we would be found,
Till I die in peace, I am not ready to go.
