Talk Without Being Heard

My heart quickened as you said my name
the words so naturally spoken
Your eyes scanned mine, knowing my heart
and the multiple times it'd been broken.

You took my hand and kissed my cheek
knowing this night would soon end
I whispered your name and turned away
my urge so hard to bend.

We walked together but our lips stayed shut
the chemistry speaking our words
No language needed when the two of us
could talk without being heard.
