Excellent work. Rumors spread like wildfire, changing as each person relays it to another. The sad thing is when the truth is learned by anyone spreading them, they never bother to pass that truth along. Well done.

It is funny you commented to my poem saying you could hear me say the words..because I feel the same about this poem you wrote here.

The way in which you composed it gave the poem even more strength.

I despise gossip and even more so, the ones who indulge in it. After having lived on this planet for 44 years I have discovered the ones who enjoy to slander the name of someone else are usually the ones who have things to hide themselves..so they point the finger to another, hoping that attention will be diverted from their own misbehaviour;)

When will the truth come out? I will tell you, girl: in time, in time all lies will be revealed and the ones who were responsible for spreading them will have no place to hide.

I feel your pain as I myself had been the subject of rumors and untruth.
There are many who thrive on spreadding rumors and twisting the facts.I believe these types of people are the lowlife's who get some sort of personal satisfaction through this.
You penned this nicely though it's sad.
