My Generation

A far fetched hope
A silent cry
A pair of pleading eyes
This is me in My Generation

A hope of being someone
A hope of becoming someone
A hope of achieving more
These are my hopes

A silent cry of self-pity
A silent cry for loved ones
A silent cry for so much more
These are my cries

A pair of pleading eyes looking for answerers
A pair of pleading eyes looking on at cruelty
A pair of pleading eyes witnessing more then they should-at this young age
These are my pleading eyes

But this is My Generation:

A loss of hopes
And of dreams
For we no longer strive to achieve
A loss of silent cries
For numbness is all we choose to feel
A loss of pleading eyes
For we have become blind to fear
A loss of emotions
For we prefer not to feel, then be hurt

This is My Generation
