Stairs of life

by cataclysmicSoul   Jul 31, 2009

I walk down the hallway

As it slowly approaches me,

And there is no way,

I can ignore this repellent thing,

Is time to face it step by step.

Wearing a simple Grey,

No harm to the naked eye,

Does not talk nor does it listen,

It has a rock mind.

The crowd comes and the crowd goes,

Stepping on him,

One drips water on him,

One angrily stomps on him,

The rock is silent,

Absent minded?

Unconscious?

Or is it waiting for me?

Just like his brothers,

The wood head,

The moving metal,

The one that challenged me in life,

Where I bravely took a step forward,

But then fell two steps behind.

I come forward,

Blinded with fear,

My head is shaking,

My body shivering,

Once again I will be the fool.

Will be the center of laughter

Take one

Two, three, four steps

The stairs stay silent,

In life I have completed five steps forward,

But the fear of the next is still here
