Hit me harder.
Scream at me more.
I am a bird that has been caged.
But whose soul has long ago soared.

I am a colorful butterfly.
Kissed by the rays of the sun.
I am a cheerful, hopeful child.
Who has just learned how to run.

I pity people like you.
Who know nothing but grudges and hate.
What is more beautiful than an unbeatable soul?
Which does not carry around all that weight?

I keep on smiling, and I always will.
Because your conscience is roaring while mine is still.
So, please hit me harder and scream at me more.
I am a caged bird whose soul has already soared.
