An Ode To My Friend

by RustySoul   Aug 2, 2009

So soft her skin like the petals of a flower,
All virtues in her lie;
Her dark, shining eyes behold the power,
Those attract the admirer's eye.

Pure in thoughts and her nature kind,
A rhythm in her speech prevails,
In her talks I always find
The innocence of a little child.

Upon the difficult paths of life,
Often when I lonely tread,
She stands by me in my strife,
Understands feelings and words unsaid.

So long as I can breathe
And until my life could end.
I shall consider myself blessed
To be her bosom friend.

You Well penned this one too!

The good thing about your poems is that they have happy endings.
There isn't any sadness in them.

Awww...Rusty, what a sweet gem! I am really touched, remembering my own best friend. It's great cause you are a guy...and your best friend is a girl. :-) My best friend is also a guy.

I really adore this poem. I can tell that you truly love her and everything she does for you. My favorite line is "Pure in thoughts and her nature kind" because it reveals how she acts and her kind nature and her ability to help out. Seems like you've got a good friend. Thanks for writing and thanks for commenting my poem! Well done 5/5.
