Wisdom in Age

by neller   Aug 4, 2009

Deep in the forest,
Trembling and cold,
Sat two women,
One young and one old.

The young woman was,
Worried to her best,
About ravenous beasts,
While the old one rest.

"My dear old friend,
Do you not fear?
Many hungry predators,
Do lurk near."

"The beast do not,
seek out man on intent,
They only search for food,
No harm is meant."

"But we could be that food!
Don't you understand!
Those creatures are hungry,
I'm a defenseless human!"

They sat very quiet,
The young woman grew tense,
She finally lost control,
And ran without sense.

The old woman smiled,
Only because she knew,
That all the hungry beasts,
Like to chase after their food.
