Come with Me

by neller   Aug 4, 2009

Here in a land,
Of meadows green,
Of pure sunshine,
Of waters clean,
I met a man,
I've never seen,
His eyes were wide,
His instincts keen,

He was quite handsome,
He gave me a smile,
And he sang to me,
In a passionate style,

"Come with me,
To a place of queer,
Where people scowl,
And children sneer,
Come with me,
And you will learn,
That a happy smile,
Must be earned."

I gaped at him,
As he continued to smile,
And we must have sat there,
For quite a while,
And then we heard,
From over a mile,
A scream of hate,
A cry of rile,
He grabbed my arm,
And pulled me away,
And as he rushed,
I heard him say,

"Come with me,
Away from that beast,
It destroys with terror,
And it does not cease,
Come with me,
Away from this place,
Our lives are in danger,
Time is a race."

The man told me,
We could no longer stay,
There was a destroyer,
Heading our way,
That this beast,
Was no play,
It would consume the land,
Take my home away,

My breath had heavied,
Due to my fear,
But over my breathing,
The man I could hear,

"Come with me,
To where it is safe,
Far from the creature,
Who basks in chafe.
Come with me,
To a better land,
We can't stay here,
You must understand."

The man's words,
Were so sincere,
And then I knew,
Circumstances were severe,
We couldn't stay,
We couldn't be near,
But the land's future,
Was so unclear.

When the beast left,
And the confusion died,
I gaped at the destruction,
And the man sighed,

"Come with me,
Come with me, my dear,
For I know,
The damage is sheer,
There is no need,
For us to look,
At the home,
The monster took."
