Love this. If only we could do that, turn back the time to a happier childhood and those games we played, hear the laughter. The good old days. (smiles)

You are absolutely right..childhood flies by so fast, but its something fun to look back on, I remember those days when I played hop-scotch and hide and seek ;) Its amazing how we all grow up so fast! Well done.

Loved the poem. Those are games that even I miss at my age. It's a part of us that we give up to be adults :-( I vowed to never grow up . Not sure what happened

I love poems about children and childhood days :) and I LOVED this poem. It's brilliant Cindy! We don't see many children playing these games now... How I use to enjoy playing all of these!... And I enjoyed your poem... EMMENSELY. Thankyou for it!

    Jump rope, hop scotch, hide-n-seek
    Ghost stories late at night
    Secrets shared in the dark
    Giggling till morning light

I didnt jumped on ropes but all the games you mentioned takes me back to my childhood and put a smile on my face.

    Childhood passes quickly by
Turn your head and it is gone
    Leaving only memories
    Of all our joyous songs

This is so very true, i really wish that i could have my childhood back but then i also rem, back in time i always wanted to grow up, human nature.

If only we could turn back time
    Relive those carefree days
    Filled with love and happiness
    Laughter echoing as we played

The magic word here is 'If Only'.
Loved the poem, such refreshing, very light poem but with great power to bring a smile on reader's face.
    Loved it

all the best and take care

Yes, if only we could turn back time. But my friend, we ought to look forward to a bright future always.. As long as we're living and breathing fresh air, we can be big children. You don't have to grow up you know:p As the saying goes, never take life too seriously, you never get out of it alive anyways.

I hope by the time i'm 60 ( i hope i reach that age) i'll still be acting goofy and laughing out loud. lol.

wonderful poem. 5/5 no doubt. Peace, W.

What a lovely short poem its such an easy poem to relate to. Great first verse setting the tone of the whole piece

    Ghost stories late at night
    Giggling till morning light

I loved the way you constructed the rhyme of these two lines.

    Childhood passes quickly by
Turn your head and it is gone
    Leaving only memories
    Of all our joyous songs

This verse continues the theme and has good flow and meter

If only we could turn back time
    Relive those carefree days
    Filled with love and happiness
    Laughter echoing as we played

Yes if only we could turn back time, but your poem helped turn back the clock, to relive those days that are so precious. Well done, all in all a great little poem.
