Shadows

Shadows

I go for a walk outside in the night
But there's something there just two steps behind
I run and I flee almost out of my mind
Taking the stairs two at a time, and into the hall, with this shadow of mine?

It's cold and it's dark and it looms in the night
My heart skips a beat and my head fills with fright
As an icy chill creeps up my spine
And the hair stands proud on this head of mine

Was that a creek upon the floor?
Or possibly the closet door?
I don't know and I don't care
But what's that shadow upon my chair?

It shudders and shivers what a ghastly sight
Oh! It's just the trees outside in the night
Goblins and ghoulies around me abound
I can't see them and they make no sound

There's a beast under my bed
In my closet, in my head?
Under the covers eyes squeezed tight
I lie here alone shaking with fright

As sleep encroaches upon my mind
Peace at last I seem to find
As these thoughts leave my head
THERE'S A MONSTER BESIDE MY BED

Lol this was funny, and I think we all know what youre talking about and have experienced the same paranoia because we've seen our own shadow and thought it was something else. :) Well done, nice to read something new from you.

Nicely done. You have describe something all of us have experienced as children and even as adults. Those shadows still have a way of making me quicken my step. lol Gave me a big smile this morning reading this. Good job.
