    Silvia,

This is one of the very few poems by you that I do not like. I can feel such sadness behind this..I cannot help but feel it is about something very sad that happened to you and you want to share this with the world in your own way.
The poem lacked of something..it was more of a motherly advice to a child or a younger friend perhaps?
Love is indeed a verb and when only one of the two persons involved is willing to pursue the relationship and work on it, then it is doomed to end at some point in time..
It is such a sad thing when you feel love slipping away and you feel absolutely hopeless and unable to make the other change his mind, I know..I know this very well too. We are both at an age that life has scarred us badly, although we are one generation apart:)
Letting go is sometimes the only act of true love we can show to the one who means the world to us..and hope one day they will return to our open arms:)

    I hope you are well:)

    *hugs*

Heartbreaking is the only word for this . Nicely written about things that happen. So run to the arms of one that loves you and don't look back. Life should be a happy one, not laden with sadness
    Good job Sylvia

Wonderful job on this piece. How true your words are.

Love is like a flower garden,
it must be nourished with kindness,
tended with care, watered so the ground doesn't harden.
Weeds must be pulled when they begin to surface.

So many people don't take the time anymore to work on things. They let things build up till it is to late to fix them.

Seeds are planted with such a loving touch,
given water to quench their thirst.
As the seeds burgeon forth, grow strong, healthy and tough,
they produce a bountiful harvest of flowers.

I love this stanza. How well things grow and flourish when you do the right thnigs. Give of yourself and others will give back to you.

If we fail to provide the sustenance they need,
    unwanted weeds begin to multiply,
overtaking the plants, choking life from the sprouts.
Our garden becomes an ugly barren place.

These weeds can reek so much havoc in our lives. Especially those with the really long roots. Seems like no matter how hard you pull you just can up root them.

It seems to happen all to often to love, my friend,
we leave the garden untended, nourishment is withheld.
Words are said in anger and in the end love dies,
leaving behind a wasteland of brambles and thorns.

What a sad ending. Great job on this Sylvia!

A very good description of what love is and
    what it needs!

Seeds are planted with such a loving touch,
given water to quench their thirst.
As the seeds burgeon forth, grow strong, healthy and tough,
they produce a bountiful harvest of flowers.

I like the way you have written this to show
how a relationship should be maintained..good!

How well you have said this..without the
right care love will not flower...excellent!

I loved the metaphor of love being like a flower garden, you made a beautiful comparison here. The two connect very well just like you have explained in this write.

'As the seeds burgeon forth, grow strong, healthy and tough,'
`Tsk tsk, I saw you trying to force a rhyme here lol, you were repeating yourself with 'strong' and 'tough' -they are the same word you're being a bit repetitive here. Be careful with that.

Loved the message in the third stanza, it provides a bit of wisdom that all need to read.

Last stanza was so sad, but all too true. It does happen, love just like a garden needs to be nourished carefully and if anger takes over, then love dies.. and who wants that?

Well done with this write, I really loved the metaphor. :)
