Rachel

The hospital sheets stained violent red
but it's too late at night for this hospital scene

her smile was lovely
just like the autumn sun
eyes deep as oceans
signed off in sorrow

she hung with the boys
who lingered in love
always out in her own world
it's not like they'd see

Rachel, she's lying
but she can't fool herself
Rachel, she's dying
cuts running too deep
Rachel let's face it
you don't even care

her flawlessness slipping
they're starting to see
they say it's just a phase
how very foolish, how wrong they were

Monday comes round
she's finally cracked
she didn't make the school bus
she didn't last the day

Rachel took the razor
she ran it through her veins
quick release of pleasure
but she cut a little too deep

Rachel, didn't say goodbye
eyes closed in peacefulness
Rachel, she's alright
she just cut a bit too deep

these hospital sheets stained violent red
it's a perfect time of night for this hospital scene.

Very sad. Beautifully told. I enjoyed the story of his work. Keep writing and I'll keep reading.
