Childhood Play

by Meme   Aug 11, 2009

I was yours to have
And you were always mine
He heard it from me
But I was only nine

I never knew he was waiting
For what I said to become real
He said if I ever forget then I'll
Create a wound that no one can heal

I never thought of it again
It was only a scene in a play
Played by two young kids
Having fun in a summers day

He said its time to be together
But I asked "What do you mean ?"
He whispered in my ears saying
"You where nine and I was thirteen"

I thought he was fooling around
So I walked away from that place
But I kept seeing him everywhere
So I had to put an end to his chase

I walked toward him that day
I cant forget the look on his eyes
He said don't say anything please
I'm just here to say my goodbyes

He left me a piece of paper
And he vanished in the rain
That was his final closure
Cause I never saw him again

I opened that paper too late
I never realized his serious pain
And when I read the words he wrote
The flowing blood froze in my veins

"I was yours to have
And you where always mine
This is the last scene my love
And this is my last line"
