Force of Nature

by Corinne   Aug 12, 2009

Is there truly anywhere
There is total silence?
Even one's heart beats loudly

An ant's footsteps thunder
A butterfly whips up a tempest
Trees breathe in and out
And rocks sigh contentedly

- Ugh - Toddlers nearby shatter my serenity

They are louder
Than any surounding sounds
Still, they are
A force of nature
One has to reckon with

What a nice funny simple piece. I think toddlers are best enjoyed when at least 1000 yards away and perferably sleeping. bravo!

Maybe it is because I have gotten older but toddlers do have a way of shattering peace and solitude of their surroundings and disrupting the sounds and sights on nature. Well done.
