Amor's Chalice ( Lento)

by Ingrid   Aug 13, 2009

Thinking about you sets my heart ablaze,
drinking from Amor's chalice once again,
linking our destinies in silent praise.
Winking at us: life's sweetest champagne.

Teach me, show me love in all its splendor,
reach for the ultimate sexual fantasy.
Preach to me about complete surrender,
each day celebrated in blisfull extacy.

Lento, consists of two quatrains with a fixed rhyme scheme of abcb, defe. The second and fourth lines of each stanza must rhyme. To take it a step further, try rhyming the first and third lines as well as the second and fourth lines of each stanza in this rhyming pattern: abab, cdcd. The FIRST words of each verse should rhyme....this is the hard part! There is no fixed syllable structure to the Lento, but keeping a good, flowing rhythm is recommended.

OOMMGG...your words freeze my blood..and ur emotions dive deep down my heart..u have such a way...
reason why I find ur poetry so unique is..u us simple words rather than too many adjective and still u give the deepest lines!!
    like true old poets..

just onething curious did u mean ? ecstasy over (extacy)?
and maybe am wrong but blisfull ...should be blissful.

again..u shine through ur words Ingrid.
hope u write again for ur readers
