Poetic story 1

A husband sent off to war
fighting for his country
couldn't have helped more
he had a sword at his side
it was his joy and pride

he slashed his enemies down
taking glory as his crown
he wrote to his wife each day
saying i killed another man today
the battlefield driving me insane

he filled a pen with their blood
from the fallen he had slain
and send the letters written
as proof he was going insane

his wife took a stand
and made just one demand
by sending one letter
to the president
the paper seeped of blood
and with one touch
he could see the dirt and mud
it seemed as if he was their at war

the president sent a letter back
and her husband returned back
he entered a mental ward
to regain his sanity back
the moral of the poem
the pen is mightier then the sword

Wow i loved the tone of this poem, subtle yet filled with powerful meaning. However, i think you should check how many times you used the word "back" in the last stanza...at least three times if im not mistaken..but that's ok...sometimes it is the emotions that matter us the most..

Lol..and as for my poem, thanks for the compliment but lol..even if you spend your whole life wondering for whom that poem was, you wont know it...That was for Edward - while leaving the Forks)

  • Wow very deep and it is very true. Words are always deeper then actions alone. Good job liked it alot
