Apparitions Haunt My Heart

by Indian Comma Bean   Aug 15, 2009

Drums announce the awakening of sense,
Echoes tremble in the rivers flow,
While leaves whisper last regrets,
My eyes see no where these tears can go.

Mountains crumble into dusk's arrival,
While a haze of ash lies upon the stars,
Streaks of crimson stain the suns last stand,
Another sentiment, another shame to these scars.

The ardent man walks into our domain,
Comforting the killers dressed in wood,
Blood drips from innocent lips, waiting-
Waiting for a moment I have understood.

Simple footsteps turn to thunder,
Lonely faces burn with sorrow,
Selfish thoughts twist daggers in my spine,
While time lays waste to what I borrow,

My eyes see nothing, no tomorrow...
