Pain and Relief

by Ray Smallshaw   Aug 17, 2009

Waves of agony crashed in to my head branding my psyche with a multitude of burning rainbows.

Causing my mind and body to cringe in the shadow of my kidney's rebellion due to the Surgeon's knife abuse,

He having recently lightened my load with the removal of two stones,

The ache a deep flame of agony bursting in a fireworks display on tortured nerve ends deep in the vital organ recently cut,

Pain, writhing pain deluged a usually balanced mind into a catatonic state as all movement ceased and the mind slid into black gloom,

It shadows slashing through my mind in painted ruction of sparks with all feeling gone now only mind screams lost in their veiled agony,

A prick in my vein slowly frayed away sharp edges of my agonies boarder line its warmth chasing away the scream,
Now enveloped in a morphinic halo brushing the dark shadows away and dragging me back to the light,

Falling into its arms all pain gone, mind calm and heart rate normal.

    Ray,

Indeed kidney stones cause inbearable pain, I have known people who had them...

I am glad you are ok now, sweet man:)

    *hugs*
