It all falls apart

by Azlin   Aug 18, 2009

You were like the sun after an eternity of night,
A hand to hold onto, a beacon burning bright.

I handed you my heart, it's all I could give,
You showed me love, and how to live.

You were my world, my everything,
but no one told me what tomorrow would bring.

I showed you everything inside my broken soul,
you gave me strength, you made me whole.

But somewhere along the way we fell apart,
I tried to hold on & press re-start.

But you can't re-start life, like you can a game,
I tried to hold on, but I wasn't the same.

So with tears in my eyes, and an ache in my chest
I handed you a peice of myself & told you to forget the rest.

Only remember that you will always hold a piece of my heart,
Because in the end, the rest falls apart.

Its nice to read, but i dont think the "press re-start" phrase is not appropriate to the intense feeling of the poem.
