A warm breeze slaps me in the face
But I can feel the pain that came along with it
A man stands off in the distance
No where to go
I try to look closer
Tears fall from eyes
The night time sky is gray with lost hopes
But of course can be blackened more
With trees swaying from a gentle push
They help cover the night
But in soon months they will be gone
And the darkness will have to fight alone
My eyes deceive me
I look when there is nothing there
I stand alone
Breathing softly
I cannot move from this place just yet
Who knows when I can get back
So I indulge in what is now
Even though we know the future does not hold much
We cannot stop time
This is true
But when we stop for a moment
We stop the world just for us
A smile for beauty from the eyes we see
So many things to look at
Too little time to see
The sun will rise soon
And all will see
But only a night owl
Will know what went on
The sunlight shines and brightens my eyes
The darkness lets me imagine
Hard to believe what is real anymore
