My Edward

It was a lovely summer's day
Tucked away in my nook
I was totally blindsided
So engrossed was I in my book

My heroine's sadly unnoticed
No one could say that of him
His presence commands attention
His visage determined and grim

He's not conventionally handsome
'Least that's what others have said
But he has a palpable passion
That constantly begs to be fed

You know, he never did see me
So I went back to my nook
Perhaps he'd come to me if I
Forgot I was reading a book

I return all his passionate kisses
Start some to give him hope
We walk for hours, holding hands
Reciting Byron, Milton and Pope

I close the book and look around
It's hard to believe it's all in my mind
But I see I am still by myself
I laugh at the mirror like everyone does
When they discover their lover's from another time
A romance pulled from the top shelf

I find him again, tucked away every day
In my old familiar nook
Seems I can't survive without him
My Edward, who lives in this book

I think thats really cool, (the poem) because its what some one who really loves reading feels when they get into the book.
Like they wish the person was real or someone they know was more like that. I loove to read its an escape from my life and u just put into words the way it makes me feel

It's not Twilight, people. I've never read those books. It's Edward Rochester from JANE EYRE.

Thanks for the positive feedback, though :)
