Don't Forget This Is Earth

by Brittany   Aug 19, 2009

We walk this earth wondering where to go next
We open our eyes too scared of what we may see
We take our pulse for granted
Because we're so sure tomorrow will be there

Our hearts are too fragile for the pain that we encounter
And our minds seem to wonder off far too much
We barely leave loved ones with warming messages
In fact, we barely even give that a second thought
All of our eyes have seen torture
And we did nothing to help out
We are all too caught up in this thing we call life
To actually be living it

We've all been through hell and back
Each in their own way
One cannot say another is weak
For they have not endured their pain
Technology has become so impressive
As we update everyday
But I can't understand how humanity is so stupid
For the things we let by everyday

Where are our hearts?
I'm quite sure we all have them
We only care about ourselves and money
And think that everyone else can beat it
We've all shed a tear
To this, no one can lie
We've all felt insecurity
And we've all needed help

So next time hold the doors open
And spare a little change
Give a hand for those in need
As you would need the same
Don't forget to say thank you
It goes a longer way than you think
And next time you see something beautiful
Just stop

Its not that hard, really
