Jade Eyes

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Aug 20, 2009

Jade eyes scan the horizon
with a slate sky overhead.
A saffron field of dandelions
marks the place we met.

Drops of cerulean came down
from dim puffy clouds
as you smiled at me
in my fuchsia dress.

I remember the words you said,
"You make my soul unravel."
From that point on we got through
the darkest of onyx nights together.

We held hands and danced
until the apricot sun peaked
through the clouds and smiled
at our hot carmine love.

There was a bouquet of mulberry
flowers clutched in your hands.
The flowers were nothing compared
to your milky white smile you gave me.

Jade eyes scan the horizon
with a slate sky overhead.
A saffron field of dandelions
marks the place we met.
