My Mother's Song

by Maddy   Aug 20, 2009

I hear the rustle of the trees,
The buzzing of the busy bees,
And then I hear a woman's voice,
Sweet and clear, carried by the wind.

I block out other surrounding sounds,
Tune in closely, look around,
The woman's voice is singing... singing,
A tone so melodic my thoughts ease.

The world around me has slowed,
Off my broken shoulders rises a load.
Calm inner peace fills my heart,
For my mother's sung her song of love.

I've never heard a voice so pure,
tis my only fool proof cure,
To hear my mother's lullaby,
Dissolves all troubles from my life.

I am still unsure if I like the way it flows, but I thought this was a very sweet write, you did a nice job. Indeed a nice dedication to a mother, good work.
