Portrait

Take a good look at my picture
What are the faults to find?
Lying behind all the shadows
That the paint would disguise

I look into a broken mirror
My body lies on the ground
The air is cold and I am choking
This picture you painted of me

I look at my eyes, they seem so shallow
My face says there's nothing inside
Why is it that I'm not breathing?
This picture you painted of me

They say joy comes in the morning
And sorrows flood the night
Then why is it that I'm still sleeping?
This picture you painted of me

By Matthew McKenzie (gothic child)
This was actually meant to be a song. I have music for it but it seems nice enough as a poem

It's patchy, I think this would do better as a song than as a poem, but I am loving it anyway, 'They say joy comes in the morning
And sorrows flood the night' I really enjoyed, just because I loved how that flowed in my mind. Great poem. :D
