One of a Kind

One of a Kind

water flows over stones
as she sits beneath a tree
watching ducks swim and play
head resting on her knee

a warm breeze blows
caressing her face
as bees buzz along
at a leisurely pace

colorful leaves cover
the soft green grass
smiling, she remembers
as time does pass

a peaceful day shared
with a wonderful man
who taught her to love
this beautiful land

he made her laugh
took her worries away
as they explored
that one single day

a ground hog peeked through bushes
as they spoke in hushed whispers
she giggled and hugged a tree
while he took the pictures

for hours at a time
they walked side by side
enjoying every treasure
this place did provide

memories of that precious day
will forever be in her mind
especially that wonderful man
whose truly one of a kind

This was such a sweet poem, and I thought it told a lovely story, but also held a very nice memory that will forever be remembered. I really enjoyed the pace of the poem, and I think your layout worked well for this. I also felt quite relaxed reading it, it was all very innocent and such a pleasurable scene to witness and feel a part of.

^ that line, Groundhog can be just one word ;)

Lovely little write, which your title suggests.
