Arizona is so sweet
that when it rains
and the water
drips off of the rocks,
the air tastes like sugar and fresh clay
the salty sand gives under my feet
so that i feel every step
ever imprint i leave in this land
and the wind that dances beneathe my clothes
that same desert wind
smells of ginger and ground
nutmeg,
wild earth
free Native American spirits; the Navaho, the Black Foot
i want to bottle this air
to show the world why
nature is meant to
thrive,
i want to bottle this feeling
to never forget this time i
felt so
alive,
