Dreaming Unnecissarily

by aubreigh   Aug 23, 2009

These bright colors
have my eyes panicking
with too much fascination
and excitement.
this dream has shadowy
black creatures. the white
masks on their mysterious
faces show grins, frowns,
grimaces, and there whispers
of agony.

frantic screams startle
my pained slumber. the
shadows lure slowly to wards
me. the shadow with a grimace
was the closest it could
come to me. the green
ferns around me were
fading away. the hot, pink
wild Daisy's petal's were
crumpling on to the ground
raising symphonies of crashing waves.

the moon was sliding on top of
the sun that only gave me comfort
to this evil place. the sky began
to redden. the leaves on the
trees were falling onto the ground
forcefully.

the shadow in front of me
was reaching its hand out for me.
my hand was moving to wards its
Smokey hand. the shadows mask was gone.
i clasped my hand into his. his free
hand was now on the small of my back.

we were dancing. no music. no colors. no faces.

just us. together. swaying to nothing. no harmony.

A warm feeling in my stomach made my knees quiver.

my heart felt as if it were being squeezed with
gentle force. i didn't want to wake up. i felt safe with this creature.

"it was all just a dream." he whispered in my ear.
i woke up gasping for air. my room was pitch black. i wasn't sure if i was awake or not until the bright sun shined through my window.

tears filled my eyes. it was all just a dream
it was all just a dream
it was all just a dream
it was all just a dream
it was all just a dream.
