Divine Diversity

by Natalie84   Aug 24, 2009

*This is my favorite thing that I have ever written. Love people for who they are not what they are! :)

The flesh of life
I simply love
All races
Creeds, cultures
Sexual orientations
National origins
In deed, I said it
Don't just hear what I say
Listen to me
Understand me
I love life
The beauty of this world
Lies in each of us
Our struggles aren't the same
But the blood in the veins
Of existence
Flows the same way
You and me
We're from reverse
Sides of the globe
You stand here
Different than I
Your cultural background
Opposite of mine
Yet when I look in your eyes
All I can see
Is the glory of Him
Blind to your coat
Alien to stereotype
Unwilling to succumb
To the chauvinist hype
You see, you and me
Yes, each of us
Were individually
Created by God himself
The King of Kings
Ruler of all
So who would I be
To belittle His son
How could I
Single handedly
Curse His home
You see, I love you
My brother, my sister
Sweet glory of God
I love you
For without you
Without your diversity
My reality
Would be bleak
My character
Would be
A little less than weak
Life wouldn't be worth living
Instead of hating
The distinctive elements
Those elements that make you
YOU
I'll embrace the opportunity
To learn something new
I won't hate you
For the color of your skin
Instead, I'll appreciate you
For what lies within
You have features
That don't exactly
Match mine
But the wonder
Of your deviation
Is beautiful to me
I'll accept you
For who you are
Admire you for
Being unique
I'll respect you
Cherish you
Care for you
I won't judge you
Nor will I hate you
You see
This heart of mine
Will only allow me
To love you
Yes, to me
You are equal to
Never less than
Because in these
Eyes of mine
The contrast
Upon this planet we live
Is simply divine

Lovely and heart-warming! Having so many friends online I can very well attest I do not see much difference... when people love each other we all understand each other! Thank you for the beautiful lines about how we are created by God and we must see each other the way God sees us. :-)

Very well written and put, sadly human beings are selfish and judgemental. Great write..."and name!" (Wink).
