Brown Sands - Song

Brown Sands
Sift through our hands
As we walk the shifting beach
Sun risin'
On the red horizon
Nearly within our striding reach

Footprints measure
A mortal treasure
That is ours for a brief time
Between our toes
A mystery unfolds
Of rich, Brown Sands so fine

Brown Sands
Will we understand
All that brought us to this place?
It seems
This oasis of dreams
Is either mirage or saving grace

On the dunes
Are written hidden runes
Of what is ours for a brief time
Within our souls
A mystery unfolds
Of rich, Brown Sands so fine

I wrote version 1 last year. I added the last 2 stanzas and turned this into a song. You can listen here:

    Corinne,
You have been turning out some amazing stuff as of late. All of which I enjoy listening to when in song form. You have a beautiful voice and bring to life nature. Though I think you intended this to be more about creation and it's existence, you have penned within it a very lovely nature poem. Great job as always.

Walking the shoreline barefoot with the sand squishing between your toes, listening to the water gives me a sense of peace and solitude. This poem brought those memories back for me. Well done.
