NEVER AGAIN

by desleeds   Aug 25, 2009

So sweet a love that nestles with innocence
As it rambles in the heart with air of wonder
Never before like the sun illumines with glee

Two halves of hearts share love with wary
While eyes speak of words as language of love
So tacit but so warmly it breathes with sigh

By twist of fate the love maims the heart
A once besotted with warmth and affection
Now a lovelorn silently whining in torment

As fate would have it with time in its prime
Love as thought now a reality once more
In touch through words has its warmth anew

Each day we talk like souls as one in breath
A longing for time when love feels in tangible
And fears not to lose the treasure anymore

But like soot in life that obscure with harsh
Things flow in shambles with nary a word
Like a stone-cold the warmth doused to freeze

Scars of pain infused with apathy by the heart
Once more it leaves a grieving heart in the lurch
Enfeebled it chants no more the words of love

Beyond strength it feigns with callosity of feeling
With invisible wall to shield the now wailing self
And smiles to wipe away the tears of sorrow

Never again to love this love
Never again to exalt the love
Never again a demigod in my heart
