Love beyond words

I want him to hold me,
I want him to love me,
I want him to be mine,
I don't want to be just friends.

I fell for him so quickly,
I wasn't ready for these feelings.
It was a big step that I made,
A step I didn't intend to make.

A friend,
I might want to be more.
But a least I have that much,
It's better than nothing.

I can't lose his friendship,
I can't risk not having him around,
I can't hurt him or myself,
I need to keep my promise I made to him.
