An Angel's Feather Falls

by Yazdan   Aug 26, 2009

Take my hand
I'm sinking
Falling like the feather of an angel
Slowly descending to the ground
Being blown around by the breeze
Which sees and touches all
The leaves of the trees feel its breath
And the birds in the sky use it to take flight
Like the metallic beasts we fly in the sky
Then land on our ground
To fill with the blood of those long dead
Those who walked the ground we step on
Those who swam in the seas we float on
So effortlessly
So freely
So omnipotently
Yet in contrast to the collectives power
My spirit falls slowly toward reality
Like the feather falls to the ground
To realize its not ground
But water
Another medium for it to fall through
Or float on
But never to rise
Never to feel the cool touch of the clouds
Without your help again
Please take my hand
And throw me to the heavens
Allow me to grow my wings again
And fly with the angels of heaven

    Hey Yazdan,

Great job. I liked it alot. I've always thought you had wings at one point or like the angel on twice in a lifetime you just needed to be here to find what you could not seem to find in your first life. Great poem.

I came back to re-read this poem again, because I enjoyed it so much. Just in my opinion, I would have liked to seen a little seperation in the poem itself from some in some of the lines, perhaps dividing your thoughts. Overall though it is quite a fresh breath of air from a poet whom I have never read before. I will be looking for more of your work as I really enjoyed this. Great Job!
