For You, Elisabetta

by Italian Stallion   Aug 26, 2009

(Wall to wall, carpeted, my heart...)

Through the dawn of day 'till the end
my thoughts of you will never depart,
I'll pray for you to descend,
pray for you my dearest friend.

(Fence to fence, aligned, your bed...)

With flowers given, birthday greetings,
and cards written, tears will begin to shed -
caressing the ground, incomplete
I'll pray for time to rewind and not repeat.

For you, Elisabetta,
a birthday present
which I'll deliver,
forever.

(Soul to soul, embraced, our love...)

Holding on close, I cleared my throat,
looked to the bold blue skies above
grasping what I had wrote
on the note:

For you, Elisabetta,
a birthday present
which I'll deliver
forever.

Holding and smiling on, because...
there is so much to love.

For you, Elisabetta,
a birthday present
which I'll deliver
forever.

Holding and smiling on, because...
there is so much to love.

Holding and smiling on, because...
you're still the one I love.

    This poem is beautiful, Joe.
Liz would be smiling while she read this.
i miss her like crazy, too. its hard signing on messenger and seeing she's not on, its like sometimes i wish she would just sign on and be her old bubbly self again, making every one laugh.
she was beautiful and always will be.

    take care, Joe.

I loved the last stanza. This poem has a lot of emotion in it; I almost cried reading it. My favorite line was definitely the last one:

"You're still the one I love"

Overall, it was beautifully written. =)
