Growing Up Without a Clue

Growing Up Without a Clue

Never had a perfect shape
Always wanted curly hair
Feet were just way too big
Complexion oh so fair

Freckles ran across my nose
Got green eyes instead of blue
Always clumsy, couldn't dance
Growing up without a clue

Wished to look like my sisters
Uncomfortable in my skin
Had breasts that were too heavy
How could a girl ever win

Took half a century to see
it doesn't matter if your thin
Guess somethings come with age
Like seeing beauty from within

Written for a challenge

Very nice to reminisce those times. Glad to see you stepping outside the box on your poetry genre. A very lovely poem as usual.
