This is truly amazing. You've talked about a topic that is condoned in mostly all societies. And this poem all comes down to the foregone conclusion that people who gossip and spread hateful rumors about others are truly idle and useless people. You really hit the mark on this one and something needed to be said about those who gossip. no doubt 5/5. Peace, W.

Mindless chatter, spread by gossip mongers,
    hucksters, peddling their wares.
Rumors, secrets told to them in confidence.
No one questions them, no one cares.

^^Some people just coulnt survive without gossiping... spreading false rumours... making a person's life hell...

Rest assured they shape the details,
their words full of innuendo, truth be damned.
    Obtuse human specimens, lacking integrity,
    they have the world scammed.

^^ ohh yes... adding some and subracting some details they make a whole new spicy story... such people should be ashamed...

    well penned...

"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

that is a wonderful quote :)

    Silvia,

I wonder what on earth made you this upset..you are always the calm and steady rock on this site.
About gossip: indeed people engage in gossip. I have been a victim of it too ever since I joined. I know it is caused by jealousy, 100% certain of it.
Why should you let it bug you? You know you write good poetry, and what you do with the rest of your time is no one's concern but your own.
I feel only God is allowed to judge us and anyone stepping into His shoes has another thing coming as soon as he or she reaches havens gate..none of us are without sin, and the ones who point the finger at other with most zeal, are often the ones who have the most skeletons in their own closet!

Whatever it is that is upsetting you, dear lady: leave it be, turn away..live your life the way you see fit! You are free to be whomever and whatever you wish to be.

    *hugs*

    5/5 Ingrid

Great job on this piece. Something we have all been a target of sometime in our lives. It is hard to watch someone we care about suffer from it's effects.

Gossip is an awful thing ... and the tongue the most deadly of weapons. But it also says in the bible "vengence is mine" and the Lord will render unto every man. Strong words...but true... Lol. A heartfelt write Sylvia.

The quote really topped this poem off wonderfully. You wrote a poem full of nothing but the truth. I can't add to what youve said! Great work.

Hmmm..gossip ruins life & draws unwanted
images of a person & at the same time its
useless to fight back because nobody cares.
They rather have a gossip then hear the
    truth..taouching write.
