Interest

by Michael D Nalley   Sep 4, 2009

With all the time that most invest
It would be a shame to lose interest
To not reap the dividends of the mind
Could be a sad fate so very unkind

The desire to learn is a precious gift
That gives a soul such a divine lift
To be the best that it can be
This value we often fail to see

To lose heart is a capitol offense
It really does not make any sense
To lose the strength to be our best
Simply by choosing to lose interest

Such a wonderful message fortold in this piece. I love the stanza:
"The desire to learn is a precious gift
That gives a soul such a divine lift
To be the best that it can be
This value we often fail to see"
it rings very true. Written beatifully, 5/5. Em

This poem has a great message that you portrayed excellently! there was one or two lines that if one or two words were tweaked would improve the flow but over all the flow is well worked! great job!
