He Said

by Weeping Willow   Sep 6, 2009

He said write the words to this song
I don't mind if you sing along
His hair slicked back
His finger tips poised
He said write the words
To this impeccable noise

His voice quivers
As the music sends down his spine
Shivers

But the words will not materialize
Back in his mind is a road block
His body in shock needing a hard rock
To rest on

I come with paper and pad
And get ready to write
To write something so impeccable
To go with the soul pouring out
Onto the keys
His keys, his home

He opens his mouth to speak
But only his fingers can communicate
He sends his pain to the piano
And through the pedals
And taps into cavities inside his mind
And he meddles he meddles

His mind so attuned
In sync with his piano
Morphed together in such a way
That words mustn't stay
He tries to speak to write
But no longer do words
Come forward
Only notes

Notes that flow
Flow from the mind
Through the nerves
The gears will grind
And into the fingers
Onto the keys
Just a g or an f
No room for thank you
No time for please

As the melody builds
The music goes louder
Each note flowing
Through his veins
Running in his blood
His face shows he can't contain
The verbal flood
That's about to be arranged
Estranged but tame

A voice
A voice is released
The words will not cease
The tone from his mouth
As smooth as the sound
Exploding from the keys

A reckless creation
So smooth
His words cut through the music
Like water makes mountains
Move

My mind
My mind is in awe
As I watch him like ice
Releasing himself
As the music
Makes the words thaw

He's done
It's out
The music stops
His eyes a glow
A one man musical
Mystery show
