Meakness is not Weakness

by Michael D Nalley   Sep 6, 2009

Meekness is not my weakness
I have a will of my own
Lord knows cannot do anything
if I am all alone

The Holy Spirit is the staff of life
and the gifts are not crutches
There is not a mortal soul alive
that has escaped Satan's clutches

Blessed are the meek who will inherit
the earth
Also theirs is the Kingdom of heaven
after their eternal birth

Weakness is the lack of strength
known as fortitude
In order to be strong I need
every beatitude

This is a truly wonderful piece about faith.
I line the line: "The Holy Spirit is the staff of life and the gifts are not crutches." I also like the last to stanzas as they have alot of meaning and inspiration in them.

Well done as always, 5/5. Em

I don't came upon lots of poems about faith. This one is simple, yet hold the most meanings. "The Holy Spirit is the staff of life
and the gifts are not crutches". Brilliant lines. Well done, kel.

Not many people use God and faith in their poems, which i believe is a good thing to write about. This poem was heartfelt and really strong,

*This was my favorite part. I also liked your title. I really enjoyed the tone of the poem as well. It was relaxed and very common, same with your word choice it was simple but you got your message across just fine. This isn't my favorite from you, but still a good read. Nik*
