My Night

by Sarah   Sep 7, 2009

At the wake
I sleep in a daze
Smiling, sailing. Drifting
Home.

Shrieks and moans
Rattle my slumber.
Ghosts visit home
Chanting hymns
Calming souls.

Whispering winds
Riddle my body cold
As I fall in tears
Wrapped in my cotton coat.

Out of the darkness
Now comes my day
My whole body glows
As I turn the final page.
