Open Your Eyes

I made you cry tonight
and that will scar my heart
forever. It's always been
just you and me. And I will
do anything to keep it that way.

Leaves dry up as summer
becomes fall...but unlike those
leaves our love will not
wither and die...it will
flourish like spring
blossoms after an evening
rain.

Time trickles down as years
multiply and I will always
belong to you. I want you
to know that not even
death can take you
from my heart.

"Love" doesn't sum up
my true feelings for you.
I doubt there is a word
Or phrase that can
but I digress.

Sweet love of mine
never fear for us--
when times seem rough
just open your eyes and
you'll see I'm right here.

    Aww this is really sweet. some relationships that we share with different people can definatly not be defined by a single word. they are very special to us and forever will be; which is why our love with them will never wither nor die, like you said. your metaphors were great, although not the most original they were beautiful. great work.
