In search of love

by groovydude   Sep 10, 2009

As I was in the store the other day
speaking with a friend
explaining how my search for love
will never end

twice I thought I found it
only to be kicked
as I give my heart so easily
only to be tricked

many men have fallen
and some have reached an end
it seems to me they always say
you are such a good friend

why is this so hard to find
when I think I have so much to give
no matter how many times...
still I give and give and give

I know you are out there my love
waiting to share my heart
and that glorious day we find each other
our lives will both happily start

my heart is open
and my smile wide
as I search for my love
I will never hide

The pain of a longing heart is a pain that has been felt by many a poet with a simliar view. The tears that get shed in search of love are those that burn the soul but the pain they leave is like a blanket welcomed in winter. The comfort of its warmth will sooner or later calm the spirit which will leave the door open for love to enter. bravo for the words you found to fill this work.

I liked reading this... as yes, it does apply to both men and women :) The search for true love (sigh)! :)) Brilliantly expressed. Well done!

This applies to women as well as men. I loved the last verse, sounds hopeful. Well done.
