One of Them

by No Need For A Name   Sep 11, 2009

My friends are crows
Groups of murders
Their minds are slowed
With knowledge and thunders
My friends are snakes
They slither among the grass
They all mistake
Me for one of them

But I'm not like them
And I walk away
As I hold my breath
For another day
One thousand hours
Wasted away

Empty conversations
Shredded dollar bills
Broken communications
Cheap and empty thrills
These nights we don't remember
Are filled with easy tells
These nights that we are hindered
Are as empty as ourselves

My friends rob me
They're the thief inside my head
They all envy
My mind which isn't dead
My family
Changed me from who I am
They all believe
That I am one of them

But I'm not like them
And I'm killing time
Waiting for death
And crossing these lines
One thousand hours
Waiting for light

Empty conversations
Shredded dollar bills
Broken communications
Cheap and empty thrills
These nights we don't remember
Are filled with easy tells
These nights that we are hindered
Are as empty as ourselves

I am not, one of them
Crossing lines, crossing friends
I am not, one of them
Take up flight, make amends
I am not, one of them
Crossing lines, crossing friends
I am not, one of them
Take up flight, make amends

Empty conversations
Shredded dollar bills
Broken communications
Cheap and empty thrills
These nights we don't remember
Are filled with easy tells
These nights that we are hindered
Are as empty as ourselves

I am not one of them

I think that the flow at the begining was off, but it did get better as it went on. I loved the whole idea and concept of the lyrics, and your choice of words was decent as well. 5/5
