Hapless victims

by kelleyana   Sep 11, 2009

Listen to the screams
of the weak and hungry,
lost, forgotten children
living in a world of cruelty

With fears, they gratify the pain
from their eyes, tears have drained
cold and numb they walk through streets
looking for some left over feast

Unwanted and considered human waste,
prone to dangerous life full of brutality, with
no one in front or behind who cares,
In domicile of tears they dwell.

I often feel parents or society are to blame for starving children or children who are criminals. Its all they ever know and I guess thats the one good thing about it. Excellent job making the reader feel their pain/sadness 5/5
