How did you smile?
how many times did you cry?
how many times did i stand by your side waiting to hear an answer?
how many days did we spend alive waiting in utter sadness?
i loved you so much in my life
but fate began to take tole
why did you run when i hit the earth?
why did you run from me?
why did you run when my wings were crippled unable to hold my weight?
i loved you, stayed with you so long, did all of that mean nothing?
i held your hand through this frail fight even though I'd become weak.

does love mean so little to you that you'd leave me defenseless?
whether i live or not
it means nothing to you
i gave you the strength and that's all you wanted
so you took your flight
fleeing in the night without feeling or emotion.
waiting in despair, i waited to hear your voice through the rain
never hearing more than thunder
so i packed up my things
began to mend my pain
grew the strength to fly again
i took one more look in the direction you departed hoping to see you one last time.
though i did not see you i could feel you and that was all i needed.
so goodbye i loved you
i hope that sometime you will realize of that which you've done
you destroyed my soul, never lightened my load, never cared what happened after.
