Elegy for a son...

by Brennan P   Sep 15, 2009

When he died
the lives of all were shaken
no memories of him forsaken
no laughter filled the air
no more was the tree to be climbed
no joy felt at the park
his smile but a memory serving as a beacon
like that of a perfect guiding light
the time stood still in an unknown reverence
hearts were broken and shattered in his wake
as we waited to here his voice ring again in silent monotony
but in our dismay only silence persevered throughout the ears of all of those near
this elevating silence, haunting with madness
as we began to cry, beg, and plea to no one there
as we waited in the white room all wishing that you would fight
their hearts thundering against their chest like that of a great hammer
your light faded away even as they prayed
your heart beat still..........my son was gone
and there was nothing to say...........
so long my dear son we'll meet again someday
