Aphrodite

by katie T Scott   Sep 15, 2009

Aphrodite slay them down
strip the sun and moon
grant us permanance, no day or night
no dawn or break of noon

they claim your love is fickle lust
your heart as acid rain
but For I who do not doubt your power
create a love one cannot feign

I could be just like Juliet
whose heart was as warm as fire
her untimely, tragic, woeful death
prooved her love made her no liar

damned to the stars
and damned to the depths
I am bound to inevitable time
who steals away my empty seconds
that pass with a lonely chime.
