Because Of Calvary...

by Dreamofolwin   Sep 16, 2009

I'm His, because of Calvary,
I'm His, because He came.
I'm His, because of Calvary,
That place of grief and shame.

Where bearing, my sins heavy load,
My Sinless, Savoiur died.
A mocking crown of cruel thorns,
His Kingship they denied.

But He is king of kings to me,
My soul He has set free,
Delivered me from Satans grasp,
For He has ransomed me.

How shall I ever thank Him?
For giving so much for me,
A battered, helpless vessel,
That His eyes of love did see.

He took me, and created,
A new vessel of His own.
Complete and made beautiful,
And gave me a new home.

Yes, Iill always thank the Giver,
Who gave so much for us.
His life He freely gave it,
Because He loved us so much.

Tremendous is His purpose,
For us his life blood gave.
To save us from eternal ruin,
The darkness of the grave.

But because of Him forever,
My darkness will be light.
Hells domain it has no hold now,
He has brought me into His sight.

Forever I shall praise Him,
For that day He delivered me.
From satans cruel bondage,
And saving a sinner like me.

Profoundly beautiful. Your devotion is unquestioned. I have recently found God in my life and slowly Im trying to learn how to be a good Christian without devoting myself to one church. (Im a non-denomination) I truly loved this poem, it shows everything I strive to be like.
