Mask of Beauty

by nicolaaa   Sep 17, 2009

Welcome to the masquerade
Be prepared for utter lies
For nobody is themselves tonight,
And alternate identities will arise

Everone dressed as the opposite
Of what's really deep inside
So all the princesses you see tonight
Are realistically not so kind

And all the monsters dressed to kill
Frightening the people away
Are really simpathetic golden hearts
Who joy and do as you say

Green eyes peer out from beneath my mask
And glisten under the disco ball
I'm wearing a mask of striking beauty
Awaiting for me to break down and fall

A longing desire to be beautiful
My wish has come true for tonight.
Hidden behind my mask of beauty
Dancing under the disco light.

Very beautifully written but remember beauty is skin deep. Well done, 5/5. Em

This is truly beautiful! I really do love it, and the choice of title was a good one...it really catches the eye! :) 5/5
